Keegan & Kennedy School of Irish Dancing

Young, Gifted and Green choreographer Louise Keegan and Riverdance starlet Ciara Kennedy have joined forces to form their Irish Dancing School in Manchester. The two young dancers have been dancing for the last eighteen years and between them have a wealth of experience.
Louise has trained and choreographed the award winning Young Gifted and Green Irish dance troupe for the last eleven years, in which they have raised over £100,000 for charity and performed at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. Ciara has toured the world for the last seven years with the internationally acclaimed Riverdance troupe.
“It has been a dream of ours to set up a dancing school and we are delighted that we have managed to secure St Kentigern’s Social Club as its base. It’s one of the best venues for Irish dance and culture in South Manchester”, said the girls.
The school hopes to stage a number of public shows to display the talents of its pupils. The aim is to make the classes a fun activity and to build upon the success of Young, Gifted and Green. Potential students are encouraged to enrol from the age of three as there is a big drive towards getting young people to exercise more and Irish dancing is an ideal way to keep fit.
"Hopefully we can train the next stars of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance as well as compete in competitions.”
The dance classes take place every Wednesday and Friday night at St Kentigern’s Social Club, Hart Road, Fallowfield from 6.00pm – 7.30pm, and Saturday mornings from 11.00am - 12.30pm. Prospective pupils and their parents are encouraged to pop in to try out the class.
