Gaelic Football for Youths
St Lawrences have a strong tradition at underage football and are one of the most successful underage clubs in Lancashire. Over the years the club have been committed to developing underage talent in the club, which has allowed many of our young players to progress through the underage system and become the stars of the senior team.
We judge our success not on trophies won (although they have been many) but on the number of children who have progress through the various grades and are still playing with club at senior level.
Community & School Links
The club prides itself on its strong links with the local community and has developed links with over 12 local Primary and Secondary schools including; St John’s in Chorlton, St Joseph’s in Sale, Holy Family in Sale & Our Lady of the Rosary in Davyhulme. Furthermore, we have secondary school links with BTH College Altrincham, Loreto High School, Chorlton & St Patrick’s in Eccles.
The club alongside Lancashire GAA often provide coaching in our affiliated schools and we take pride in the relationships we have with teachers, parents and most importantly pupils.
Being Part of St Lawrence’s
Having fun comes naturally once you are part of Lawrence’s, every year we take part in the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Manchester and the bonding between the players is enhanced by the many away trips we make. Last year our underage players travelled with club and county to Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, London, Glasgow (taking in a game at Celtic on the way), Cork and New York!
We have many trips planned for our youth players this year; to see what’s planned for the 2013 season please visit our Club Calender
We take pride in being a club which can provide Gaelic football to all age groups. We have youth teams from Under 8’s to Under 18’s for both Boys and Girls. Being a summer sport, training sessions for all age groups usually take place at Turn Moss Playing Fields on Saturday Afternoons from 3pm to 4.30pm between March and October.
At St Lawrence’s each child is encouraged to develop at his or her own pace with a focus on skills, physical fitness and most importantly fun. Whether your child is an absolute beginner or has experience of Gaelic Football please contact either of our Youth Officers (contacts below) and bring them down for a no obligation ‘taster’ session.
Membership is only £5 a month and covers the whole family (Parents & Children). Membership also gives free automatic entry into The 100 Club Draw; a monthly draw where members have a chance of winning £100.
For Player Registration Forms & 100 Club Standing Order Form please see one the Coaches or Youth Officers (contact details below).
